Most poignant is the fact Rapunzel is locked away in the village of Corona. While the story is one that is familiar to many, fans have been quick to spot strikingly similar details to today’s current health pandemic. The popular Disney film, which was released in 2010, tells the story of Rapunzel, who is locked away in a tower for 18 years. With the government encouraging everyone to take social distancing measures in a bid to stem the spread of the virus, the unprecedented measures have reminded some of a similar situation - in the form of Disney’s Tangled. As the coronavirus pandemic deepens, with more than 3,200 cases now confirmed in the UK, the British public are naturally growing ever more concerned about the current health crisis.
